Abstract

Is neuropsychological impairment widely recognized as a feature of infertility disease,
current research has revealed a variety of impairment patterns. Current study seeks to
answer this question by investigating methodological, clinical, and societal factors that
contribute to variation in study results. The findings revealed that fear of intimacy
significant predicted neuropsychological impairment (NPI) (β = .29, p < .001) as well as
poor Quality of life (β = -.45. p < .001). Up to 40% of infertile patients in the current
study group reported neuropsychological impairment. Current study articulated
significant mean differences across education groups on fear of intimacy [(F (4,11) 7.93
= ***p < .001)], mental toughness (MT) [F (4,11) 7.94 = ***P < .001)], QoL [F (4,11) 7.94
= **p < .01] and NPI [F (4,11) 4.622 = **p < .01]. Result also revealed significant mean
differences across the duration of illness groups on fear of intimacy [F (4,15) 4.388 =
**p < .01], QoL [F (4,15) 3.008 = *P < .05] and NPI [F (4,15) 3.786 = **p < .01].
Furthermore, significant mean differences across the duration of illness groups on fear
of intimacy [F (2,117) 5.986 = **p < .01], MT [ F (2,117) 7.063 = ***p < .001], QoL, [F
(2,117) 7.936 = ***p < .001], and on NPI [F (2,117) 5.777 = **p < .01]. Furthermore,
significant mean differences across socio-economic status on fear of intimacy [F (2,117)
5.085 = **p < .01], on MT [F (2,117) 6.591 = **p < .01], QoL [F (2,117) 8.532 = ***p <
.001] and NPI [F (2,117) 5.361 = **p < .01].
