Political Controversies and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)
Abstract
CPEC is a multi-dimensional project connecting the most important regions of South
Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, promoting regional connectivity. The
concept of One Belt, One Road is mentioned in this article. Pakistan should take this
project for the prosperity and eradication of poverty in provinces. This article briefly
examines the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and its significance for Pakistan
Provinces where most of the areas are not developed, and lack even the basic
necessities, resultantly, condition of the people are not up to the standards of living.
The location of the eastern and western routes is also mentioned in this article. Another
part of this article examines the political parties [PML (N), ANP, PTI, and PPP]
perspectives on eastern and western routes construction. This paper is focused on
bringing the Federal and provincial governments to the point that they must develop a
consensus and avoid unnecessary delays regarding eastern and western routes
construction, which would not only promote prosperity but would also bring stability
to Pakistan. The method used in this research paper is qualitative, and its nature is
descriptive. Moreover, data has been compiled through secondary sources.
