Effects of Activity Based Learning on Social Skills Development of Children: A Study of Selected Schools of District Abbottabad, Pakistan
Abstract
This study examines different reading and learning activities implied by teachers in the
classroom and their impact on behaviour and social building of students. The study
investigates how teachers work on the social and behavioural building of the students
besides teaching and learning activities. The study was carried out using purposive sampling
technique; while the generalized questionnaire was designed based on the study’s theme and
distributed among various groups of population including teachers, parents and students of
selected schools of district Abbottabad. The study concluded that activity-based learning in
the classrooms adds to the effectiveness of the learning process in schools of Abbottabad,
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and enhances learning capabilities of the students while it also
adds to the credibility of teachers’ class management. Thus, activity-based learning boosts
social and behavioural development and enhances teaching efficiency and helps solve
troubles of students.
